Former Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC winger Kgaogelo Sekgota has completed his move to Egyptian Premier League side Petrojet SC after putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.
As first reported by FARPost, Petrojet was impressed by the 29-year-old after his arrival in Egypt from Siwelele FC, and the club moved quickly to secure his services.
Sekgota’s switch to Egypt marks another opportunity for the talented winger to revive his career and make his mark abroad.
The former Moroka Swallows winger joined Siwelele in January but departed the club after a brief spell. His move to Petrojet now provides him with a fresh challenge in the Egyptian top flight.
Petrojet have previously shown an interest in South African talent, with Stellenbosch FC defender Qobolwakhe Sibande also spending time at the club before returning to the Betway Premiership on loan.

Once regarded as one of South Africa’s most exciting wingers, ‘KG’ is looking to get his career back on track. After overcoming personal challenges that disrupted his progress, the skilful winger now has an opportunity to put those difficulties behind him and focus on football again.
Sekgota joined Chiefs in 2021 and quickly won over the Naturena faithful with his pace, direct running and willingness to take on defenders. He made 48 appearances across all competitions before leaving the club in 2023 for Stellenbosch FC, where he was part of the squad that lifted the Carling Knockout.
He also had a stint in Portugal with Vitória Setúbal before returning to South Africa. During his time in Europe, he made his Primeira Liga debut against FC Porto. Sekgota has also turned out for Moroka Swallows and Bidvest Wits, taking his senior career tally to close to 200 appearances.
His new club, based in Suez, located about 130 kilometres east of Cairo, is linked to Petrojet, a company specialising in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. They play their home games at the Suez Stadium.
The football club was established during the 2000/01 season and has since risen through the Egyptian football pyramid to reach the top flight.
