Sekela Sithole is closing in on an overseas move after leaving Marumo Gallants, with the midfielder now on the verge of taking his career abroad, FARPost has learnt. The former SuperSport United attacker chose not to extend his stay at Gallants after his contract with the club expired at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The 29-year-old attracted interest from several clubs in South Africa, with Durban City FC among those who pursued his services. However, the two parties could not agree on personal terms.
Stellenbosch FC were also understood to have shown interest in the experienced midfielder as he weighed up his options after his departure from Gallants.

Sithole has now opted for a new challenge, with FARPost reliably reporting that he is close to a move to the Jordanian side Dougra Club. Dougra are based in Duwaqarah and currently compete in the Jordanian First Division League. The club, however, is set to step up to the Jordanian Pro League for the 2026/27 season after securing promotion to the country’s top flight.
Following the arrival of former Jordan national team assistant coach Ahmed Abdel Qader as the club’s new manager, the club is eager to strengthen its squad. Sithole has been identified as a player who could play a key role in the club’s campaign.
With personal terms agreed, he is expected to travel in the coming days to complete the move, with medical and visa formalities remaining before the deal is finalised.
The move offers Sithole, who has spent his career in the PSL, his first taste of football outside the country. Sithole joined Marumo Gallants ahead of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign after previously turning out for Baroka FC, Cape Umoya and Free State Stars. At Gallants, Sithole featured in 30 matches in the Betway Premiership and scored three goals.
