Motsepe Foundation Championship side Magesi FC have completed the signing of talented winger Wanga Khorommbi, widely known as “Messi” in local football circles.
Khorommbi is not new to professional football in Limpopo. He was once at the centre of a battle between rivals Venda FC [VFC] and Black Leopards during the 2022/23 season.
This came after both clubs unveiled the player as their new signing ahead of that campaign. It appeared that Khorommbi had signed for both clubs ahead of the season.
But after deliberations between the two clubs, they reached a settlement, and the player was registered for VFC.

However, his stay in the professional ranks was short-lived after his stint at Venda FC was not as successful. He later returned to the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League where he played for clubs such as United Artists and Vondwe XI Bullets.
Last season, the 29-year-old midfielder was instrumental in helping ABC FC navigate the SAFA Limpopo Inter-Regional Playoffs to secure promotion to the ABC Motsepe League. ABC FC recently roped in veteran coach Owen Da Gama as their new technical director.
MAGESI FC REINFORCING PLAYING PERSONNEL AFTER PARTING WAYS WITH TRIO
Magesi FC, who were relegated from the Betway Premiership last season, recently parted ways with three players.
The players are left-backs Tshegofatso Nyama and Kayden Rademeyer, as well as midfielder Kgomotso Mosadi. Their exit comes a few days after Dikwena Tsa Meetsi opened their 2026/27 Motsepe Foundation Championship with a 1-0 victory away at Midlands Wanderers.
The club has also signed experienced defender Vusi Sibiya, along with former AmaZulu FC striker Elmo Kambindu and ex-Highbury FC centre-forward Naeem Amoojee, as they look to launch an immediate return to the SA elite league.
