Prosport International agent Mike Makaab has provided an update on Olisa Ndah’s next move, with the Nigerian international edging closer to a Libyan switch after a proposed deal with Mamelodi Sundowns fell through.
Sundowns showed interest in signing Ndah following his exit from Stellenbosch FC at the end of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
The highly-rated defender spent the second round of the previous campaign in the colours of Stellies; however, he couldn’t establish himself as a regular starter under head coach Gavin Hunt.
Consequently, Ndah was released by Stellenbosch as part of a squad overhaul during the current transfer window, with Hunt moving to build his own team for the new campaign.
The experienced defender initially signed with Stellenbosch as a free agent after parting ways with Orlando Pirates halfway through last season.
After Ndah became a free agent in recent weeks, Sundowns showed interest in the talented centre-back. However, FARPost understands that the Brazilians were only willing to sign him on the condition that he was registered as a local player rather than taking up a foreign spot.
NORTH AFRICAN MOVE LOOMING FOR OLISA NDAH
With Ndah’s camp racing against the clock to secure the player’s future, they are exploring a move to North Africa, with Libya emerging as the possible destination.
The 28-year-old is one of the gifted defenders on the African continent after proving his qualities at Pirates before battling persistent injuries.
During his time at Pirates, Ndah made 81 appearances across all competitions. He scored one goal, contributed to numerous clean sheets, and won several major trophies, including three MTN8 titles and the Betway Premiership.
With Ndah itching for his next chapter, his agent Mike Makaab has revealed that the player is on his way to Libya and the deal could be concluded this week.
“Olisa Ndah is fit and ready for his new chapter to continue showcasing his talent. So at the moment we are working on a deal with a Libyan club, which I can’t disclose now,” Makaab told FARPost. “We are hoping that the deal will be concluded by the end of this week.”
