Former top-flight outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM] have hinted at yet another dramatic return to the professional football setup.
The club, owned by businessman Lawrence Masala Mulaudzi, first entered the Premier Soccer League [PSL] ecosystem in 2017 after purchasing the status of Milano United.
However, they later sold that status to Sekhukhune United before making headlines by acquiring century-old Bidvest Wits in 2020. The high-profile transaction deeply divided opinion across the South African football fraternity given Wits’ rich history.
FORMER PSL SIDE SELL ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE STATUS
Mulaudzi’s top-flight tenure lasted just seven months before he sold the Premiership franchise to Marumo Gallants. He subsequently purchased Royal AM’s second-tier status, but the club suffered relegation to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League at the end of the 2022/23 season.
TTM sat out that division initially, selling their slot to Limpopo outfit Maruleng Celtic before reacquiring it ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
While TTM suffered relegation to the SAFA Hollywoodbets Regional League, they received a temporary lifeline when Black Leopards withdrew from the division pending their Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] case. That ABC Motsepe League status has now been sold to Ramantsha Blackpool FC.
TTM CONFIDENT OF TOP-FLIGHT COMEBACK
On Wednesday evening, TTM posted a cryptic message on their social media platforms: “Betway Premiership status loading…” It mirrors the exact phrasing the club published back in 2020 prior to their surprise takeover of Wits.
FARPost reached out to TTM leadership for clarification and to establish whether active negotiations are underway, but the club declined to comment.
However, what this publication has established is that the club has previously made an attempt to purchase a Premiership status with no success. Their return to the top flight will depend on negotiations in the next few days which this publication is monitoring closely.
