New AmaZulu FC signing Zouzou Landry has shared his thoughts after completing his move to the KwaZulu-Natal side, expressing his delight at sealing the deal with Usuthu.
The central defender was officially unveiled on Friday, 4 September. He joins them from Tanzanian side Azam FC. This announcement was made ahead of Usuthu’s Betway Premiership KZN Derby clash against Richards Bay FC at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu.
AmaZulu went on to secure bragging rights with a 2-1 victory over the Natal Rich Boyz. Goals from Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya and Nkosikhona Radebe were enough for AmaZulu to claim all three points. Meanwhile, Moses Mthembu netted the consolation goal for the hosts.
Last season, Landry made 16 appearances, finding the back of the net once while also providing two assists for AmaZulu.
“AmaZulu FC have strengthened the squad with the addition of Côte d’Ivoire U23 international central defender Zouzou Landry,” reads the club’s statement.
“Landry joins AmaZulu from Tanzanian Premier League outfit Azam FC, bringing international experience and defensive reinforcements to the Arthur Zwane-led side. The central defender hails from the northern part of Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire.”

The defender expressed his enthusiasm about testing himself in South African football following his arrival.
“I am very happy to be in South Africa and to play in the PSL,” Landry said during his unveiling.
In addition, Landry was unveiled alongside goalkeeper Siphelele Zulu, who completes a return to Usuthu following previous spells with Hout Bay United and Pretoria Callies.
“I am happy to be back home at AmaZulu,” Zulu added regarding his return.
AMAZULU’S STRONG START TO THE SEASON
The double signing comes at a favourable time for Arthur Zwane’s side. Usuthu have enjoyed a decent start to the league’s new campaign.
Following their derby victory, AmaZulu occupy third place on the Betway Premiership table. They have accumulated 10 points from their opening five fixtures. They sit just three points adrift of joint log leaders Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
AmaZulu will now shift their focus to their next league assignment against Marumo Gallants. This game will take place on Saturday, 12 September, at Moses Mabhida Stadium. The kick-off is set for 15:00.
