Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants have opened talks over a potential loan move for Zimbabwe international Daniel Msendami. Information reaching FARPost is that Msendami is pushing for an exit in search of regular game time, with the Bucs open to letting him leave temporarily.
The discussions between the two Betway Premiership clubs are ongoing, and no agreement has been reached at this stage. Msendami has struggled for minutes under Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou this season. He has featured only twice in a possible nine matches, making one start and coming off the bench once.
His situation is unlikely to improve following the arrival of Mohau Nkota, who has added further competition for places in the Pirates attack. The former Marumo Gallants man already appears to be on the fringes of Ouaddou’s plans and could be pushed further down the pecking order.
DANIEL MSENDAMI PUSHING FOR REGULAR GAME TIME
The 25-year-old joined the Betway Premiership champions midway through last season but has struggled to establish himself at the club. He has made just 11 appearances across all competitions, amounting to 310 minutes of football. Most of those outings have come from the bench.
A return to Gallants would take Msendami back to familiar surroundings, where he enjoyed regular football before moving to the Soweto giants. He made 49 appearances during his season-and-a-half spell with the North West outfit.
The lack of game time at club level could also affect his place in the Zimbabwe national team. Msendami has earned 14 caps for the Warriors and is part of the provisional squad named by newly appointed coach Ramon Català for the upcoming 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
Zimbabwe will face Sierra Leone and DR Congo later this month, with Msendami hoping to retain his place when Català announces his final squad. The winger is understood to be keen on securing the Gallants move as he looks to play regularly and protect his place in the national team.
Kruger United also attempted to sign Msendami on loan earlier in the transfer window, but the proposed move did not materialise. Gallants have now emerged as a possible destination, although the two clubs still need to finalise the terms of the proposed loan agreement.
