Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu has explained why he remains unfazed by the injury setbacks to the team’s captain Brandon Petersen and young forward Wandile Duba.
The Soweto giants confirmed on Wednesday, 16 September, that goalkeeper Petersen and striker Duba have both been ruled out of action after picking up injuries during training at Naturena Village.
Petersen suffered a medial collateral ligament [MCL] injury to his left knee during Tuesday morning’s session. The 31-year-old shot-stopper is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks while undergoing rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, Duba picked up a hip and groin injury that will sideline him for about two weeks. The 22-year-old frontman has been in impressive form for Amakhosi this season, netting three goals in five appearances across all competitions.

Despite the absence of the key duo ahead of their upcoming league encounter, Ndlovu insists there is sufficient depth within the squad to handle the situation.
Amakhosi are set to clash against Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.
“They are two important players in our team, but in football, you have to deal with unforeseen circumstances,” Ndlovu told the club’s official website.
“As the coaches always tell us, we are a squad, and every player has to be ready to step up when needed. So, we trust the players who will come in to fulfil the roles they are given.
“Obviously, we were disappointed not to get the win against Polokwane, but we have had a week to prepare for this one [against Golden Arrows].
“It’s going to be an interesting game because we have played them already and we know it won’t be an easy ride, but it’s very important for us to go into the break on the back of a positive result.”
