Daniel Msendami looks set to become the latest Zimbabwean to retrace his footsteps back home after it emerged that negotiations are underway for him to complete a January move to Scottland FC, FARPost has established.
Over the last six months, a significant number of Zimbabwean internationals have returned to Zimbabwe to re-establish themselves in the local game.
Among them are Washington Arubi, Prince Dube and several others, a trend driven by the rapid improvement witnessed in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League in 2026.
The emergence of new, heavily-backed clubs, chief among them champions Scottland FC, has completely changed the financial landscape, with local clubs now remunerating players far better than before.
Players from across the SADC region, including Namibia, Malawi and Eswatini, have also made their way to Zimbabwe in search of greener pastures.
ORLANDO PIRATES LOANEE EYED FOR JANUARY MOVE TO SCOTTLAND FC
It has now emerged that Daniel Msendami is on the radar of Scottland FC, who have already assembled a team consisting of former Betway Premiership stars including Khama Billiat, Knowledge Musona, Terence Dzvukamanja and Walter Musona.
Msendami, who was recently loaned to Marumo Gallants by Orlando Pirates, is understood to be a top priority target for the January transfer window.
It will not be surprising if he makes the move to join Scottland FC. The 25-year-old winger has endured restricted game time due to the number of available options at Orlando Pirates.
Last season, Msendami made eight appearances for the Buccaneers, and this season he had already made three appearances and scored one goal before being loaned to Marumo Gallants, a club he previously played for following his move from Jwaneng Galaxy in 2024.
Of the eight appearances last season, six were from the bench in the Betway Premiership and two were substitute appearances in the Nedbank Cup.
A source close to Scottland confirmed to FARPost that negotiations for a January move are at an advanced stage. Msendami’s loan spell at Marumo Gallants is set to end in June 2027.
He was recently on international duty for Zimbabwe as the Warriors beat Sierra Leone 3-2 before losing 2-1 to the DRC at home.
