A former Orlando Pirates midfielder has been spotted training with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Magesi FC.
Magesi recently returned to the mid-pre-season ahead of the second-tier league resumption next week.
The club has also beefed up the squad by signing players such as former Kaizer Chiefs winger Edmore Chirambadare. Veteran striker Rhulani Manzini was also roped in together with Karabo Seroto and Ntuthuko Mlotshwa.
MESHACK MAPHANGULE SPOTTED TRAINING WITH MAGESI FC
Ex-Buccaneer midfielder Meshack Maphangule has reportedly been training with the ambitious club.
Maphangule, who is an older brother to Polokwane City anchorman, Rodney has been without a club since parting ways with Chippa United. The 32-year-old spent the 2022/23 season at the Chilli Boys making just six league appearances.
He has previously had stints at Pretoria Callies, Marumo Gallants, now-defunct Dynamos and Black Leopards where he made his name. He only spent one season at Orlando Pirates in 2018/19 but struggled to make game time.
MAGESI YET TO MAKE A DECISION ON EX- PIRATES MIDFIELDER
“He has been training for a while now but head coach Clinton Larsen has not made a decision regarding Meshack,” said a source.
Magesi will return to action when they travel to fellow promotion candidates JDR Stars on Tuesday, 13 February.
Despite being in sixth position, Magesi are only three points below log leaders Orbit Colleague after 17 matches played.
It’s only their second season since their return to the PSL but the club is one of the favourites to battle it out for promotion to the DStv Premiership.
Meanwhile, the club has been embarking on charity work during the AFCON break.
They recently announced on their social media platforms that the club donated soccer balls and goalkeeper gloves to 63 development teams around the Moletjie area in Limpopo.
