Orlando Pirates starlet Camren Dansin has revealed how he is drawing inspiration from Relebohile Mofokeng’s high-profile transfer to Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

‘Rele’, as he is affectionately known, completed his move to the Belgian Pro League outfit on Thursday, 2 July 2026. He joined Saint-Gilloise on a four-year deal from the reigning Betway Premiership champions, Pirates.

The talented playmaker, who is also nicknamed ‘President Yama 2000’ by the :Ghost’ faithful, played an instrumental role in helping the Soweto giants clinch the league title last season for the first time in 14 years. His stellar domestic campaign saw him net 10 goals and provide eight assists in 27 league appearances.

Interestingly, Dansin shares a long history with Mofokeng, with their football journey tracing back to the Transnet School of Excellence before they both linked up with the Buccaneers’ reserve side.

Dansin was promoted to the Soweto giants’ first team in May 2025. The 21-year-old went on to feature in 13 games across all competitions, scoring one goal and contributing one assist in Pirates colours.

To top it off, Dansin is nominated for the Betway Premiership Goal of the Season award for his spectacular strike against Mamelodi Sundowns in a league match on 1 November 2025. The 2026 PSL Awards winners will be announced on 27 July, broadcast live on SuperSport and SABC.

Currently, the midfielder is in camp with the South African Under-23 national team. The side is preparing for the upcoming CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers scheduled for September this year.

‘IT’S SOMETHING I DREAM ABOUT’ – CAMREN DANSIN

Speaking to public broadcaster SABC Sport, Dansin expressed how seeing his former teammate’s breakthrough has fueled his own European ambitions.

“It just shows that hard work pays off because Rele has been very consistent,” Dansin said.

“So, It’s very inspiring. Seeing him make a move overseas is something I dream about as a player.”
