Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Tashreeq Morris has opened up on his move to Durban City FC, where he reunites with head coach Khalil Ben Youssef.
This comes after Morris cut ties with Amakhosi after the two parties agreed to a mutual termination of his contract. The Soweto giants confirmed the departure of the 32-year-old frontman on 3 July 2026.
He had joined the Glamour Boys in January 2025 from SuperSport United. During his one-and-a-half-season stint at Naturena, Morris played 14 games across all competitions in Chiefs colours, scoring once.
On Monday, 13 July 2026, KZN outfit Durban City officially announced the arrival of the experienced striker ahead of the new season.

“Durban City FC is pleased to announce the signing of Tashreeq Morris ahead of the club’s 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign,” reads the club’s statement.
“The 32-year-old centre-forward joins the Citizens with more than a decade of top-flight experience in South African football. He has represented Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town City FC, Sekhukhune United, SuperSport United and, most recently, Kaizer Chiefs during his professional career.
“Morris has made more than 200 senior appearances across all competitions, bringing valuable top-flight experience to Durban City.”

Speaking after signing on the dotted line, Morris expressed his delight at joining the Durban club, stating that he is looking forward to hitting the ground running under Ben Youssef—a coach he previously worked with at Chiefs.
“I am delighted to be joining Durban City FC and to become part of this exciting project,” Morris said.
“The club has shown great ambition, and I am looking forward to contributing my experience. Also, working hard for the team, and helping us achieve our objectives this season.”
