While all eyes will be on Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona facing their former paymasters Kaizer Chiefs in the 2026 Toyota Cup on 26 July, Scottland FC arrive in South Africa with a squad packed with talent beyond the former Amakhosi stars.
The Harare-based club, Scottland FC, are reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions and has built a team filled with experience and match-winners.
Spotlight will naturally be on Billiat and Musona, who remain revered in the PSL. Billiat enjoyed a glittering decade in SA, winning almost every major trophy. The Zimbabwean attacker won three Premiership titles with Mamelodi Sundowns, plus the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout, CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup.
Billiat made 146 appearances for Sundowns, scoring 50 goals and providing 43 assists. He moved to Kaizer Chiefs in 2018 and played 126 games for Amakhosi, registering 24 goals and 29 assists to his name. His contract expired in June 2023, and he left Naturena.
Musona also left his mark at Chiefs. The striker is still regarded as one of the best to wear the Gold and Black in the PSL era. Across his two stints at the club, Musona scored over 40 goals and added 19 assists for Chiefs. At the moment, Billiat has nine goals in 22 Zimbabwe PSL matches, while Musona has eight to his name.
However, Scottland FC have assembled a very strong squad with some of the best players in Zimbabwe’s PSL. They also boast Walter Musona, who starred for Polokwane City FC and had a brief spell at Sekhukhune United. Ex-Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United striker Terrence Dzvukamanja is also part of the team.

THE MIDFIELD TRIO: MTHOKOZISI MSEBE, MOSES SHIDOLO AND ABUBAKAR MOFFAT
Scottland FC boast a very fluid central midfield built around the partnership of Namibian Moses Shidolo and Mthokozisi Msebe, with Abubakar Moffat also proving influential off the bench.
Shidolo, 29, has adapted seamlessly to life at the club since joining during the mid-season transfer window last year. He played a pivotal role in their debut Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title charge, while also proving his versatility in an unfamiliar right-back role.
Fast forward to the 2026 season, and Shidolo, formerly with Matebele FC, has shifted into his preferred central midfield role. He has underlined his value with three goals in 22 matches.
In addition, Msebe, 26, serves as the creative heartbeat of Scottland FC in central midfield, consistently feeding clean balls to Khama Billiat and Walter Musona. Msebe was a vital cog in helping Scottland win the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.
Known for his knack for scoring crucial goals, Mthokozisi Msebe joined Scottland following a highly rated spell with Bulawayo Chiefs. He has three goals and several assists to his name this campaign.
On the other hand, Moffat, 28, is a diminutive defensive midfielder in the mould of retired Zimbabwe star Tinashe Nengomasha. He has stood out with his ability to dictate the tempo of the game, shield the defence and drive attacks.
The combative midfielder previously turned out for several lower-league sides in Spain, including FC Malaga City Academy, Vélez CF in the Tercera División, CD Estepona in the Quinta División, plus CF Motril, CD El Palo and CD Almuñécar City.
Moffat was sold to Scottland FC from MWOS FC in January for an undisclosed fee. Since arriving at Scottland, he has established himself as one of the most highly rated defensive midfielders in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
His form has also earned him a first Zimbabwe national team call-up under Kaitano Tembo, while attracting interest from clubs outside Zimbabwe’s borders.
THE ROVING RIGHT WINGER: PANASHE MUTIMBANYOKA
Right winger Panashe Mutimbanyoka is another player to watch. Having won the Zimbabwe PSL title three times with FC Platinum between 2018 and 2022, the 24-year-old has become coach Norman Mapeza’s impact player.
Mutimbanyoka, who worked with Mapeza at FC Platinum, is known for his pace and relentless energy. This has seen him slot seamlessly into a forward line spurred by Billiat and the Musona brothers, Knowledge and Walter.
DEFENSIVE WALL: KWAKHE THWALA
In Scottland’s defence, Eswatini international Kwakhe Thwala is another star to watch. The Scottland rearguard has been rock solid, having kept nine consecutive clean sheets in their last nine games, all of which they won.
While the defence is marshalled by experienced players like Kelvin Moyo, formerly with Chippa United, and the combative Peter Muduhwa, it is Thwala who has been a cut above the rest since arriving in January from Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini.
Thwala has become one of Scottland’s most reliable performers, with exciting overlapping runs that have earned him one goal so far. He has featured in all 22 matches played this season so far.
