Kaizer Chiefs legend Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane is set to join Zimbabwe PSL side FC Platinum as Thabo Senong’s assistant, FARPost can reveal.
‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane was head coach at Matebele FC in Botswana’s Premier League last season, marking his debut in a head coaching role.
The 44-year-old helped the modest Matebele FC retain their Premiership status after taking over in September 2025. He took over the team following a slow start to the season and helped them turn a corner to finish 10th in the 2025/26 campaign.
His exploits saw him being linked with Botswana giants Sua Flamingoes and Jwaneng Galaxy. However, he looks set to surface in Zimbabwe, having arrived on Tuesday evening to seal his move as Senong’s assistant coach. Yeye confirmed to FARPost that he is in Zvishavane, where FC Platinum is based, to seal his move along with Senong.

Senong’s appointment as head coach was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, as the club severed ties with Joel Luphahla due to poor results. The SA duo joins a team that desperately needs to restore its image in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
For Senong, this is a return to Zimbabwe for another chapter after a botched stint at Highlanders FC earlier this year, while it will be the first time for Letsholonyane.
They inherit a team that has won four league titles in the last decade. Three of those titles were won under former Chippa United mentor Norman Mapeza and one under Lizwe Sweswe.
As it stands, FC Platinum sit in 11th position in the 18-team league after 25 matches, with 31 points. With the league title already out of reach, they will be expected to win the remaining nine matches and secure a top-eight finish.
In addition, they will be expected to compete in the inaugural 2026 Munhumutapa Cup, whose round of 32 starts next month, and the Chibuku Super Cup, whose dates are yet to be announced.
